Dental Health Careers is designed to provide curriculum and real-life experiences to students interested in a dental health career. Curriculum builds knowledge for dental health careers such as dental assisting, dental laboratory technician, dental administrative office assistant, dental hygienist, or dentist. All students will have classroom work and clinical work as follows: First-year students may participate in a rotational clinical site internship, allowing interests to be explored and widening knowledge of career fields. Second-year students participate in internships specific to student interest. Students may be employed by a facility for an after-school position. Second and third-year students tend to work 12-16 hours weekly at a clinical site. Third-year students can specialize in expanded functions dental assisting, dental laboratory technician assistant, or front office administration assistant. |
