The Key To A
Successful Future
The Academy
of Law, Public Safety & Security focuses on training and career
education in the areas of Police Science, Corrections, Law (Civil and
Criminal), Fire Science and Emergency Medical Services. Professions
related to Public Safety and Public Security have become better
understood in recent years. The lesser known professions such as
evidence technician, forensic scientist, and the many Homeland Security
professions have been brought into the spotlight. There is an increased
need for trained & dedicated personnel in the wide-ranging area of Law,
Public Safety and Security.
Students attending the Kokomo Area Career Center have the opportunity to
begin training for a career in the Law Enforcement and/or Public Safety
& Security field while still in high school.
Students can begin coursework in the Academy of Law, Public Safety and
Security as early as their sophomore year. Students will gain an
understanding of the Criminal Justice System and how all entities
related to that system work together.
