At Kokomo Virtual Academy, we believe every student deserves an education that fits their life. Whether you are looking for more flexibility, a specialized learning environment, or a way to stay connected to the Wildkat spirit from afar, KVA is ready to welcome you.

Open to all Indiana Students. KVA is a state-recognized, full-time virtual high school. Any student in grades 9-12 residing in the state of Indiana is eligible to enroll. You do not need to live within the Kokomo School Corporation boundaries to become a Wildkat and earn a KVA diploma.

Every student learns differently, and KVA is designed for those who thrive when they have more ownership over their day. You’ll likely love the KVA experience if:

• You prefer a personalized pace: If you like having the freedom to create your own study routine and focus on your work without the interruptions of a traditional bell schedule, you’ll feel right at home here.

• You are a self-starter: If you enjoy taking charge of your own learning journey and feel more productive when you can dive into your lessons independently, KVA gives you that space.

• You enjoy digital connection: If you're comfortable expressing your ideas, asking questions, and collaborating with teachers through writing and virtual check-ins, you’ll find our platform very intuitive.

• You like a good challenge: If you view setbacks as just another step toward getting it right and prefer an environment where you can keep pushing forward at your own speed, you have the mindset of a KVA student.

To make your application process smooth, please have the following ready:

• Proof of Age: Usually a birth certificate. (If you need a copy, you can order one through the Indiana State Department of Health’s Vital Records webpage).

• Proof of Residency: Indiana requires school districts to collect documentation (like a utility bill) showing the parent/guardian’s name and current Indiana address.

• Prior Academic Records: All students transitioning from public, private, or homeschool are requested to submit records for placement.

  • Need a transcript? Contact your previous school or district office to request a copy.

  • Current Wildkats: If you are transitioning from in-person to online within Kokomo School Corporation, you do not need to submit new transcripts.

Once enrolled, you’ll begin planning a path that aligns with the Indiana Core 40 Diploma. Through Indiana’s Graduation Pathways, KVA students can individualize their requirements to align with their postsecondary goals: Enrollment, Employment, or Enlistment. All Indiana students must satisfy these three requirements:

1. Earn Credits necessary for a High School Diploma.

2. Learn and Demonstrate Employability Skills.

3. Demonstrate Postsecondary-Ready Competencies.
