To provide digital learning opportunities that lay the foundation for globally-minded, digital learners through engaging experiences by infusing technology within a rigorous curriculum.
District Goal for Technology Education
To provide one-to-one personal computing devices to all students by the 2017-18 school year. This goal will help support and create engaging personalized learning in a digitally-rich environment that extends beyond the classroom walls so all learners are future ready.
Partnership for Technology Education
With forward thinking approaches to creating digital-rich opportunities, the Kokomo School Board approved the collaborative involvement with the Digital Promiseinitiative. During the 2016-17 school year, Kokomo School district was invited to join the League of Innovative Schools. This organization recognizes school districts across the nation that pioneer innovative learning and leadership practices which lead to improved outcomes for students and help prepare our students for life. In addition, the district took the pledge to become a Future Ready School, which supports the transformation of schools through the effective use of digital learning strategies.

1 to 1 Technology Academies
The 1 to 1 Technology Schools provide each student with a personal computing device (e.g. tablet or laptop) for use during the school day. These technological tools further engage students while enhancing the curriculum; thereby, maximizing student learning. Students living within the Pettit Park and Bon Air districts are automatically enrolled unless they apply to attend a different school.
Neighborhood 1 to 1 Technology Schools
Pettit Park Elementary, Bon Air Elementary, and Bon Air Middle School
Neighborhood Schools have distinct boundaries and all students living within those boundaries are guaranteed admittance. Student admission with transportation is determined by the location of his/her residence. Other students may apply to attend these neighborhood schools. While Bon Air Middle School will serve students from Bon Air and Pettit Park elementary schools, it is open to all students. Transportation is available for most students residing within the technology school's established boundary.
Kokomo High School 1 to 1 Technology
As part of its 1 to 1 student technology initiative, students at Kokomo High School receive a personal computing device (i.e. laptop) for use during the school day. Students are given the opportunity to take home their computing device. The laptop is a valuable learning tool providing students access to digital learning opportunities throughout the school day. Teachers have received training to fully utilize the laptops for teaching, assessment, and communication.
