Seniors Won! Class of 2027 Claimed the Homecoming Trophy

Homecoming week officially began as the KHS Class of 2027 left zero doubt who ruled the turf! In a thrilling display of school spirit and grit, the senior squad powered through the bracket—taking down the freshmen in round one and battling past the juniors in the championship final to capture the ultimate Homecoming flag football trophy.

From Rookies to Gridiron Stars

What made the victory even more impressive was that just two weeks prior, most of the girls on these flag football teams had never played a single down of organized football.

Trading their protective pads for clipboards, our KHS varsity players assumed the role of coaches for each class team. With expert guidance, the seniors quickly mastered the playbook, leaning on steady teamwork, big defensive stops, clutch flag pulls, and clever quadruple handoffs to secure the win down the stretch.

In the Press Box: Dean Hockney’s Broadcast Highlights

With more than 1,000 games behind the microphone, Hockney stepped away from his usual play-by-play style to take a few lighthearted, creative liberties that kept the stadium smiling.

When his classic observation of "a lot of running for not a lot of yards" boomed through the speakers, the seniors didn't miss a beat. They took the playful jab completely in stride, answered right back on the field, and punched it in for the score!

Wildkat Spirit at Its Best

From classmates supporting classmates to incredible energy packed into the stands, this opening event set the bar sky-high for Homecoming week.
