From the Desk of Principal, Jennifer Mable
Hi EHE Families! Welcome to September! The school year is now in full swing, and it’s been such a joy to see our hallways filled with curious minds, smiling faces, and the sound of teaching, learning and laughter.
Our students are settling into routines, building friendships, and embracing new challenges every day. In August, we focused on building a strong classroom community and practicing kindness in everything we do. You might have heard your child talking about how they’re being a good friend, helping others, being safe, respectful or showing responsibility—we’re so proud of the great choices they’re making!
We also have some exciting things ahead: picture day, parent teacher conferences, and school spirit activities. Be sure to stay connected through our newsletters, classroom updates and social media. Thank you, as always, for being such a supportive part of our school family. When we work together—families, students, and staff—we create the best possible environment for learning and growth. Wishing you a wonderful September!

A Message From Our School Social Worker
Dear Parents & Guardians,
I hope your family has had a smooth start to the school year! September is a time for settling into routines, building friendships, and supporting student success both at school and at home.
What I Do as the School Social Worker: My role is to support the social, emotional, and behavioral needs of our students. This can include:
Helping students build coping skills and manage emotions
Supporting positive peer relationships and conflict resolution
Connecting families to community resources
How to Connect: If you feel your child could benefit from school social work services, please contact your child’s teacher and request a referral. A signed parent/guardian consent is required before services begin.
Let’s make September a month of growth, kindness, and connection for our students!

Health and Wellness
Now that school is in session, we kindly ask that you send in your child’s updated health plan, especially if they have any medical conditions such as asthma, allergies, diabetes, or other needs that require specific care or emergency protocols.
Having an up-to-date health plan helps us ensure your child’s safety and well-being while in our care. Please submit the plan by September 5th . You can email it to our nurse, Kayli Eller (keller1@kokomo.k12.in.us) or drop off a physical copy to the office.
If you have any questions or need assistance with forms, feel free to reach out to Nurse Eller by calling the school office at 765-454-7050.

Please use the link below if you are going to volunteer in a classroom or on a field trip. You will only need to complete this volunteer form once every three years and it will be good for all schools within our district.
